UN Sustainable Development Goals
The 17 SDGs of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity adopted by the UN General Assembly. Besides our special emphasis on materials, waste, and energy issues, we have chosen to focus on six goals that are particularly relevant to our business, where we can address the challenges and contribute the most to sustainable development.
SDG 3: Good health and well-being
We put a focus on educational efforts to raise awareness of oral health and its connection to general health. Within the framework of TePe Share, we aim to inspire and contribute to knowledge exchange.
SDG 7: Affordable and clean energy
TePe uses renewable energy throughout production and has invested in our own solar power plant. We put special emphasis on increasing our energy efficiency to minimise our carbon footprint.
SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
Our sustainability work is a long-term commitment, based on and stimulating financial growth. We strive to achieve higher levels of economic productivity through our continuous focus on research and innovation for sustainability. We aim for diversity and gender equality at all levels and strive for a safe and inclusive workplace at TePe and our partners. Our suppliers are required to sign TePe’s Code of Conduct, which follows the UN Global Compact ten principles.
SDG 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure
We integrate sustainability in our innovation process. We strive to support our business partners in reducing their carbon footprint, while continuously working to improve our own efficient use of resources.
SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production
We aim to reduce our resource intensity, while minimising potential degradation and pollution of natural resources throughout the whole life cycle of our products. We aim as well to educate consumers on sustainable consumption and lifestyles, providing them with adequate information to make conscious choices. Through our reporting, we contribute to transparency regarding our continuous efforts and development with regards to the environment, social issues and governance.
SDG 13: Climate action
We see our responsibility in taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts by using renewable energy in our production, shifting to renewable raw materials where possible, and by striving to minimise the potentially adverse environmental effects of our products, services, and transportation. It is our overarching goal to become CO2 neutral.
