FAQ
Which size should I use?
Start with the smallest of the two brushes. Look in the mirror and insert the brush between your teeth, close to the gums. You should feel the brush bristles touch the tooth surface and the gum tissue. The brush should have a snug fit, but the wire, although plastic-coated, shouldn’t touch the sides of the teeth or the gums. Never force the brush into a space.
How do I use TePe EasyFit™ in a safe way - how do I know when to stop?
As long as the wire doesn't touch the sides of the teeth, you can insert the whole brush. There might be more or less resistance from the bristles depending on the size of the gap, which is normal since the brush is conical and larger at the base.
My gums start bleeding when using the brush – should I still continue using it?
Bleeding is often a sign of inflammation. With proper removal of plaque and removal of inflammation, bleeding will cease. It is also important to use the correct technique and size of brush to avoid harming your gums.
From what age can I start using TePe EasyFit™?
We don’t recommend that children use interdental brushes. If all permanent teeth have erupted, usually around 13 years old, and there are large gaps, TePe EasyFit™ can be a great option. It’s important to get your individual recommendation regarding interdental cleaning from a dental professional.
Why is it conical-shaped?
Its design fits a variety of gap sizes, making it ideal for those looking for simplicity, speed, and versatility in their routine – especially people who use floss or soft picks.
I use floss today. Should I use TePe EasyFit™ instead?
Both dental floss and interdental brushes have their own advantages, so the choice depends on your specific needs and preferences. You might even consider using both to ensure thorough oral hygiene, especially if you can’t fit an interdental brush between all our teeth.
Dental floss is good at removing plaque and food debris in tight interdental gaps and along the gums. It can, however, be a bit difficult to use in the correct way, and for wider gaps it doesn’t cover the whole space between the teeth. Interdental brushes, on the other hand, are the most effective way to remove plaque, and easy to use correctly. If you haven’t used interdental brushes before, TePe EasyFit™ is a great choice, since the conical shape fits many gap sizes.
Remember - which one you choose isn’t as important as having this step as part of your oral care routine, so start today!
